To assist Penguin with their graphic design for Meredith Alone, we start by understanding their goals, target audience and competitors. We collaborate with the brand to identify the message they want to convey through their visuals and develop a creative brief that outlines the project’s requirements.
Seizing the Opportunity
Navigating the UK’s Book-Loving Nation
With the UK releasing 600 books daily and hosting renowned authors, the country is a haven for bookworms.
Despite the saturation of the market, opportunities for breakout success still exist. That’s why we help books like “Meredith Alone” stand out with expert strategies and pre-publication marketing skills.
From crafting compelling book descriptions to identifying key influencers, we support publishers like Penguin Random House every step of the way to ensure their books get the attention they deserve.
Positioning for Success: A Winning Marketing Campaign
Working with Michael Joseph, we created a dynamic and impactful marketing campaign that generated buzz and ensured a successful product launch.
Our involvement spanned from design to execution and we secured the author’s approval to ensure that the content was not only informative but visually appealing.
We also understood the importance of reaching the right audience and sent multiple proof jackets to influential bloggers and authors for review before launch. From interactive features to foil finishes, our attention to detail ensured the book caught everyone’s eye, positioning it for success.
Creating a Buzz: The Launch of a Bestseller
To ensure a successful launch, we worked with local bookstores and created custom point-of-sale materials such as bookmarks, posters and window displays.
We also designed social media quote cards and animations that brought the book cover to life. Reviews were essential, so we secured coverage in newspapers & magazines and even placed ads on the homepages of Hello Magazine and Good Housekeeping.
With over 150 bloggers on board, we were able to constantly update our quote cards and send out quote round-ups to the press. The author toured the country promoting the book and with all the positive reviews, we kept the momentum going until the paperback version was released.
The Changing Market
The New Age of Book Publishing: Opportunities for Debut Authors
The world of book publishing is changing rapidly and this is particularly true for debut authors.
In the past, publishing houses had a near-monopoly on getting a book into readers’ hands, but that’s no longer the case.
With the rise of self-publishing and digital marketing, debut authors have more opportunities than ever to reach their target audience and build a following.
The Perfect Product
Goals for Growth
Connecting with Readers & Selling 1000 Copies a Week
For a debut author, success can be a mix of many things. While established authors may see quick success, debuts typically have a slower build. For them, success is measured by the book’s first year on sale, or at least until the paperback release. And it’s fantastic news that this book is selling 1000 copies per week – that’s the ultimate goal for any debut author! The book has received glowing reviews and the buzz continues to grow, driving even more sales.
